Waste Not, Want Not: The Fujian Duo Leading China’s Green Industrial Transformation

August 29, 2025 – In the heart of Fujian’s Jinjiang City, Yonghong Recycling Resources Co., Ltd. stands as a beacon of innovation in plastic waste transformation. Established in 2004 and spanning 24,498 square meters with a built-up area of 40,682 square meters, this tech-driven environmental enterprise has redefined circular economy practices through its integrated “collection-R&D-production-sales” model, setting industry benchmarks in sustainable resource utilization.

Specializing in polyester plastic recycling, Yonghong operates three high-capacity cleaning lines and twelve granulation lines, achieving an annual throughput of 100,000 tons for washed flakes and 50,000 tons for engineered plastic pellets. The company’s core offerings include 100,000 tons/year of premium PET bottle flakes (including 3A-grade variants) and specialized recycled polyester for textile applications, effectively replacing imported materials while stabilizing domestic supply chains. Backed by ISO 14001, ISO 9001, GRS, and OBP certifications, Yonghong’s operations generate RMB 30 million in annual taxes, aligning with national policies that incentivize eco-friendly industrial practices.

The company’s ecosystem extends through its sister entity, Yongyi (Fujian) Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., founded in 2011 within the same industrial zone. Focused on recycled polyester yarn production, Yongyi leverages Yonghong’s bottle flakes as primary feedstock across three PET-based filament lines and 20 texturing machines, creating a closed-loop system from waste recovery to fiber manufacturing. With an annual output valued at RMB 200 million, Yongyi holds GRS, OBP Marine Textile, and OEKO-TEX 100 certifications, underscoring its commitment to environmental and quality standards.

A standout innovation lies in Yongyi’s ocean-bound plastic (OBP) program, which converts marine debris into high-performance textile materials. Through proprietary processes involving washing, shredding, and melting, the company transforms ocean waste into recyclable polyester yarns with soft texture, durable elasticity, and customizable functionalities. These yarns, available in DTY and POY formats alongside 3A-grade bottle flakes, follow Yonghong’s patented production protocols and global compliance frameworks, ensuring traceability from raw material to finished product.

This vertically integrated model not only reduces reliance on virgin materials but also provides brands with verifiable sustainable solutions. By closing the loop from ocean waste to wearable textiles, Yonghong and Yongyi exemplify how industrial synergy can drive ecological restoration while maintaining commercial viability.
