CRISP Project Welcomes Amcor: Accelerating Circular Economy in Food Packaging

December 31, 2025 – Amcor, a global frontrunner in packaging solutions, has officially joined a three – year Danish food packaging recycling initiative, teaming up with industry peers to drive the construction of a household plastic food packaging recycling system. The project, named “Circular Recycling Innovation for Sustainable Packaging (CRISP),” is spearheaded by the Danish Technological Institute and jointly funded. It primarily focuses on the recycling and utilization of rigid food packaging made of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).

The core objective of the CRISP project is well – defined. It aims to integrate resources from multiple fields, including packaging manufacturing, food production, and waste management operations, to establish a cross – industry collaboration platform. By rallying the forces of all links in the industrial chain, the project strives to jointly develop core processes that can transform post – consumer waste streams into food – grade recycled plastics. This technological breakthrough is expected to solve the key challenges in plastic packaging recycling and utilization, facilitating the formation of a closed – loop resource cycle in the food packaging sector.

According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, Amcor’s participation will infuse the project with a wealth of practical experience and technological resources from the packaging industry. As a leading enterprise in the packaging field, Amcor has extensive experience in the research and application of sustainable packaging. Its involvement will further strengthen the synergy within the industrial chain, helping the CRISP project make substantial progress in process innovation and technology implementation. This, in turn, will offer a replicable circular model for the sustainable development of the global food packaging industry.
