August 19, 2024 – Since 2020, the ChinaReplas Plastic Recycling and Regeneration “Golden Apple Award” has emerged as a highly anticipated event in the industry. This award not only successfully recognizes several influential figures and outstanding women in the field but also honors a wide range of products. This fall, the 6th edition of the ChinaReplas Plastic Recycling and Regeneration “Golden Apple Award” is set to take off, continuing its unique approach to highlight innovative applications and excellent performances in packaging and product design.
This year’s “Golden Apple Award” features three significant categories: the Regeneration Industry Influential Person of the Year “Golden Apple Award,” the Recycled Plastic Innovation Application “Golden Apple Award,” and the Plastic Packaging and Product Design Innovation “Golden Apple Award.” Among these, the Plastic Packaging and Product Design Innovation “Golden Apple Award” garners particular attention. This award focuses on “design” and aims to encourage designers and businesses to integrate environmental concepts into their product designs, reducing plastic waste generation and promoting plastic recycling.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the design phase of a plastic product marks the beginning of its entire lifecycle, with over 80% of its environmental impact originating from this stage. As global attention to plastic pollution increases, reevaluating the design and usage of plastic products has become a central issue. Western countries like Europe and America have already adopted recyclable and regenerative design concepts, tailoring design guidelines to their local recycling systems. In China, the government has prioritized plastic pollution control as a key reform task, introducing a series of policies to drive improvements in plastic product design and enhance recycling rates.
In the previous edition of the Plastic Packaging and Product Design Innovation “Golden Apple Award,” six products stood out. These award-winning products not only fully considered environmental factors in their design but also achieved plastic reduction and recycling goals through innovative technologies, setting an example for the industry.
Among them, the 100% plastic design and recyclable application of Yuyao Dandan Sprayer Co., Ltd.’s all-plastic spray pump gained high recognition from the judges. Unilever China Investment Co., Ltd.’s shoulderless PP integrated extrusion tube won the award for its recyclable design and plastic reduction effects. Additionally, Nivea (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.’s specialized amino acid cleansing foam, Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd.’s application of micro-foaming weight reduction technology in dairy packaging, Yike Huoquan’s ink-free volcanic bottle, and Jinmailang Food Co., Ltd.’s Lamianfan product also received the award for their excellent environmental design.
