August 30, 2025 – A sudden fire broke out at the factory premises of Zhejiang Dachuan New Materials Co., Ltd. at 7:47 a.m. on August 28, 2025. Upon receiving the fire alarm, multiple departments including fire and rescue teams, emergency management authorities, public security personnel, and 120 emergency medical services rushed to the scene promptly to carry out disposal and rescue operations. By 8:30 a.m. the same day, the on-site fire had been effectively contained. However, the accident resulted in two people being reported missing, prompting the immediate launch of on-site rescue efforts and an official investigation into the incident.
As learned from the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, Zhejiang Dachuan New Materials Co., Ltd. is situated in the Chengnan Industrial Functional Zone of Changxing County Economic Development Zone. The factory covers an area of over 100 mu (approximately 66,667 square meters), with an investment of more than 100 million yuan, and is equipped with modernized production workshops and factory buildings. The company was listed on the stock market on October 26, 2015, under the stock name “Dachuan New Materials” and stock code 834193. Its core business focuses on manufacturing six major categories of products, encompassing over 50 varieties such as chemical intermediates, water treatment agents, dyeing and finishing auxiliaries, daily chemical auxiliaries, papermaking auxiliaries, and oilfield chemicals.
In the afternoon of August 28, a staff member from Zhejiang Dachuan New Materials Co., Ltd. stated that there was no clear information yet regarding whether the two missing individuals had been located. Additionally, a sales manager from the company revealed that they had received a notice from the company in the afternoon, requiring the suspension of new order acceptance. A staff member from the Huzhou Municipal Government responded that the accident had also caused injuries to two other people, who had been promptly sent to the hospital for medical treatment. Around 5 p.m. the same day, information from relevant departments of Changxing County indicated that local authorities were still making all-out efforts to search for the two missing persons. They also noted that any subsequent updates related to the incident would be promptly announced to the public.
