Vietnam’s Plastics Sector to Shine at the 2025 VietnamPlas Exhibition

March 28, 2025 – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is gearing up for a significant event in the plastics industry – the 2025 VietnamPlas International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition. Scheduled to take place from September 17th to 20th at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), this exhibition stands as one of the premier events in Vietnam’s plastics sector, renowned for its high reputation and credibility.

The exhibition is jointly organized by VINEXAD, a national trade exhibition and advertising joint-stock company under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Yorks Trade and Marketing Services Co., Ltd. It has received strong support from the Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA), as well as backing from various government departments including the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Trade, and Ministry of Planning and Investment, alongside multiple industry associations, underscoring its professionalism.

According to insights from the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the previous edition of the Ho Chi Minh City Plastics Industry Exhibition attracted 500 exhibiting companies from 15 countries and regions, with foreign exhibitors accounting for over 80%. The event welcomed around 13,415 professional visitors, and 90% of the exhibits were sold on-site or purchased by local agents, marking a resounding success.

Vietnam’s plastics industry currently faces challenges due to a shortage of raw materials, with 90% relying on imports, totaling 1.6 to 2 million metric tons annually, valued at approximately $2.1 billion. Consequently, there is a need for increased investment in the establishment of plastic waste recycling and processing plants. Currently, there are about 2,200 plastic manufacturers in the country, with 80% based in Ho Chi Minh City, presenting a vast market potential for the exhibition.

The exhibition will showcase a wide range of products including blow molding machines, extruders and extrusion lines, rubber and plastic packaging machinery, modified plastics, functional masterbatches, foams, auxiliary materials, and raw materials. It will also feature ancillary equipment for pre-processing, recycling machinery and equipment, post-processing, and other processing machinery; calendering machines and other plastic processing machinery and equipment; recycled rubber, rubber additives, and other rubber raw materials; thermoplastics, thermoset rubbers, natural rubbers, rubber laminating machines, rubber molding machines, synthetic rubbers, and special rubbers, among other rubber and plastic auxiliary equipment. Industry professionals are invited to attend, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for mutual growth.
