The Huajin Aramco Fine Chemical and Raw Material Engineering Project in Panjin, Liaoning Province, has recently made significant progress. Between July 19th and 21st, the project successfully completed the delivery and installation of the first batch of large equipment for the air separation unit, marking the official entrance into the critical phase of equipment installation for the entire construction.

These long-cycle equipment for the air separation unit, including air-cooled towers, water-cooled towers, and two molecular sieve purifiers, have been under production since July 2023. After a year of meticulous craftsmanship, the four large devices, each with a diameter of approximately 5 meters, a height of about 30 meters, and a weight ranging from 70 to 120 tons, were finally delivered and installed as the first batch.
The equipment embarked on its journey from Nantong, Jiangsu, braving inclement weather such as strong winds and storm surges during the multi-day voyage, and eventually arrived safely at Panjin Port. This milestone achievement lays a solid foundation for the subsequent advancement of the project.
Upon the equipment’s arrival, the company sprang into action, safely transporting the devices to the construction site according to a predetermined unloading, loading, and transportation plan. Once at the site, the company organized scientific construction operations, strictly implementing and controlling every detail from crane selection and positioning to lifting and installation procedures. After two consecutive days of intense construction, the delivery and installation of this batch of large equipment were successfully completed.
Located in Liaobin Economic Development Zone, Panjin, Liaoning Province, the Huajin Aramco Fine Chemical and Raw Material Engineering Project is not only a significant outcome of Sino-Saudi cooperation but also a key project listed in the national plan. With a total investment of 83.7 billion yuan, the ambitious undertaking aims to establish 32 production plants and supporting facilities, including 15 million tons of oil refining, 1.65 million tons of ethylene, and 2 million tons of PX per year. This endeavor forms an integral part of the petroleum and petrochemical industry chain of China North Industries Group and plays a pivotal role in Panjin’s effort to become a nationally significant petrochemical and fine chemical industry base. The project is anticipated to be completed in September 2025, with a total construction duration of approximately 30 months from pile foundation commencement to mechanical completion.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the successful installation of the large equipment for the air separation unit not only provides a robust guarantee for the smooth progress of the Huajin Aramco Fine Chemical and Raw Material Engineering Project but also injects new vitality into the petrochemical industry development in Panjin and even the entire Liaoning Province. As the project advances and more equipment is gradually installed, this significant initiative is expected to make a positive contribution to the sustained economic development of the region.
