Smoker Craft, a leading pontoon boat manufacturer from Indiana, is gearing up to expand its footprint in the entry-level market this winter with the launch of its innovative Sylvan A Series pontoon boats at the upcoming boat show. Featuring an advanced polyethylene superstructure, these boats promise a fresh aesthetic while significantly reducing construction costs.

By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’ve crafted a sleek and cohesive hull structure that enhances the boat’s aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, the high-performance polyethylene material not only lowers production costs but also simplifies the construction process, reducing manpower needs and overall boat-building expenses.”
AsiaMB has learned that to maximize cost-effectiveness and production efficiency, Smoker Craft has ingeniously designed the polyethylene hull structure over a traditional aluminum boat body. This innovative design not only lightens the overall weight of the boat but also allows for the use of more economical, lower-horsepower engines, further driving down the suggested retail price. Surprisingly, despite the reduced horsepower, the boats’ performance remains exceptional, rivaling traditional pontoon boats equipped with larger outboard engines.
Huber added, “The weight reduction is a significant breakthrough for us, as it means consumers no longer need to invest in large trailers to tow the boats, significantly saving costs and effort.” Additionally, this new polyethylene material boasts enhanced durability, better withstanding dock impacts compared to traditional aluminum. Its uniform structure also effectively dampens vibrations, enhancing the boat’s comfort and safety.
The company plans to initially roll out 20- and 22-foot models, both featuring a uniform 96-inch beam and equipped with 90- and 115-horsepower outboard engines, respectively. During the winter boat show, Smoker Craft will showcase a 20-foot Sylvan A Series pontoon boat with a 50-horsepower outboard engine, priced at a starting retail price of just $26,995.
Moreover, the company intends to introduce similar polyethylene boats under its Starcraft brand, named the GX Series, and the Lucerne Series under the SunChaser brand, catering to a broader range of customer needs.
