Syensqo’s Changshu Base Achieves Key Milestone in Polymer Composite Material Expansion

October 22, 2024 – Syensqo Corporation has recently announced the successful completion of trial production for the first phase of its polymer composite material expansion and renovation project at its production base in Changshu. This significant milestone was achieved during the third quarter of this year. The first phase of the project boasts a “quick-change production line,” designed to adapt flexibly to the ever-evolving market demands, particularly suiting small-batch and customized production modes.

The surge in demand for polymer composite materials, fueled by the thriving new energy and electronics industries in the Asia-Pacific region, served as the primary impetus for Syensqo’s expansion endeavors. The entire polymer composite material expansion project carries a substantial investment of 170 million yuan and has been designated as one of the key projects by the Changshu municipal government. Currently, the second phase of the project is under intense construction, with the “standard production line” anticipated to enter trial production in the first quarter of 2025 and achieve stable operation and design capacity by the second quarter.

uction base in Changshu, with a rich history spanning 17 years, has undergone four large-scale capital injections and capacity expansions, amounting to a cumulative investment close to 500 million USD. The base specializes in the research, development, production, and sales of high-end materials such as ultrafine polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) powder engineering plastics, aromatic polymers, cross-linked low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant cable compounds, and fluoroelastomers. These products, thanks to their exceptional performance, have found wide applications and recognition in various sectors including new energy vehicles, semiconductors, communication equipment, electronic devices, aviation, and healthcare.
