AsiaMB Exclusive – In a significant move for the coatings industry, Hunan Sondi Digital Coating Systems has secured 28.67 million yuan in strategic funding, a development that promises to accelerate innovation in color masterbatch-compatible coating technologies. The subsidiary of leading coating manufacturer Sondi Corporation (688157.SH) will use the fresh capital to enhance its integrated “equipment-process-material” solutions.
The investment comes from Xiangjiang Sondi New Materials Industrial Investment Partnership, which will acquire a 20% stake in the digital coating specialist. Post-transaction, Sondi’s ownership will decrease from 77.27% to 61.82% while maintaining controlling interest. Notably, 6.47 million yuan will be allocated to registered capital with the remainder strengthening the company’s financial position for R&D and market expansion.
“This strategic partnership creates exciting possibilities for color masterbatch applications in next-generation coating systems,” a Sondi spokesperson told AsiaMB. “The collaboration will particularly focus on emerging sectors like new energy batteries and printed circuit boards where precision coloring and surface treatment are crucial.”
