Longling County in Yunnan Province has made a significant stride in promoting green circular economy with the recent completion and commencement of operations of its first end-of-life vehicle (ELV) dismantling project – the Huayi ELV Resource Recycling Processing Plant. This new venture has infused fresh vitality into the local green economy.

Upon entering the Huayi ELV dismantling facility in Longling County, one is greeted by a bustling yet orderly scene. Inside the dismantling workshop, staff meticulously follow environmental standards as they preprocess scrapped vehicles, ensuring that the entire dismantling process does not cause any secondary pollution to the environment. Once dismantling is complete, various reusable resources are carefully sorted and collected to provide raw materials for the production of new products, thereby maximizing resource utilization.

According to Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the project boasts a total investment of RMB 32.3 million and covers an area of 10,700 square meters, making it a substantial undertaking. Construction of the project commenced in April 2023, and after nearly a year of intense development, it successfully began operations in December 2024. Notably, the project is seamlessly integrated with the vehicle deregistration system of the Longling County Vehicle Administration Office, enabling one-stop processing of deregistration procedures for all scrap vehicles except large ones, greatly conveniencing vehicle owners and enterprises.

Huang Mingwei, the person in charge of Longling Huayi Building Materials Industrial Co., Ltd., stated that the company adheres to the principles of scientific dismantling and recycling. It conducts meticulous processing of scrapped motor vehicles, classifying and extracting valuable substances such as metals, plastics, and rubber, while ensuring that hazardous waste is properly disposed of by qualified enterprises to minimize environmental pollution. It is reported that the project can dismantle 15,000 scrap vehicles annually, with an expected annual output value of RMB 45 million. This truly transforms scrapped motor vehicles into valuable resources, significantly contributing to the sustainable development of the vehicle dismantling industry.
