December 16, 2024 – Revalyu Resources, a pioneering force in the global recycling sector, is rapidly advancing its expansion plans with the recent commencement of construction on its inaugural overseas facility in Statesboro, Georgia, USA. This state-of-the-art plant, set to commence operations in the latter half of 2027, will boast an impressive annual recycling capacity of 90,000 tonnes of post-consumer PET plastic, equivalent to processing 25 million plastic bottles daily. This remarkable feat is attributed to Revalyu’s proprietary and innovative depolymerization technology.

According to Vivek Tandon, the founder of Revalyu Resources, the construction of this overseas plant represents a significant investment of up to $200 million and is expected to create approximately 120 new jobs in phases. Furthermore, the company has unveiled an even more ambitious global expansion blueprint, aiming to increase daily production to over 1,000 tonnes by 2030 through close collaboration with international partners, in response to the growing global demand for sustainable PET materials.
Revalyu Resources’ journey began in 2010 with the establishment of its first recycling plant in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. This facility currently recycles 4.5 million plastic bottles daily and produces 400 tonnes of recycled PET material. Notably, the company has recently inaugurated a second PET recycling plant at the same location in Nashik and is actively constructing a third, which is anticipated to be operational by the third quarter of 2025. Upon completion, the third plant will see an additional investment of $50 million, bringing the total recycling capacity of the three Nashik facilities to 35 million post-consumer plastic bottles daily, with a combined daily output of 280 tonnes.
What sets Revalyu Resources apart is its groundbreaking chemical PET recycling process based on glycolysis. This process successfully decomposes post-consumer PET bottles into sustainable esters (monomers), which can directly replace traditional petroleum-derived monomers as the foundational chemicals for manufacturing a wide range of PET-based products, including polyester textiles, PET bottles, films, and sustainable PET packaging. This innovative technology not only makes PET plastic recycling more efficient, economical, and feasible but also produces 100% recycled PET material that is indistinguishable in quality from virgin material.
Moreover, compared to traditional PET production methods, Revalyu’s rPET production process reduces water usage by 75% and energy consumption by 91%. For every 2,000 pounds of PET recycled, it also saves approximately 0.7 barrels of oil and 0.2 cubic meters of landfill space, making a significant contribution to global sustainability efforts.
