Pioneering Plastic Recycling Solutions: Wanrong Technology’s International Partnership

December 1, 2024 – Wanrong Technology Partners with Korean Eco-Firm to Advance Plastic Recycling Solutions

In a landmark move, Wanrong Technology, a leading player in China’s solid waste resource utilization sector, has formally inked a cooperation agreement with a renowned South Korean environmental enterprise. The collaboration aims to deepen cooperation in the field of chemical recycling of waste plastics, jointly propelling the global fight against plastic pollution.

With nearly two decades of pioneering work in solid waste resource utilization, Wanrong Technology has achieved remarkable success in plastic pollution management through its three core technologies: mechanical crushing and sorting, anaerobic pyrolysis, and molecular membrane fermentation chambers. The company adheres to an innovative strategy of “dual-track progress in physical and chemical recycling,” constantly exploring and practicing new pathways for plastic circular utilization. In the realm of physical recycling, Wanrong has successfully scaled up the production of high-value PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastics from household appliance waste and developed a full-chain traceability smart platform, bolstering precise management and efficient recovery of waste plastics.

On the chemical recycling front, Wanrong has made groundbreaking strides. According to Color Masterbatch Industry News, through a series of technological innovations including continuous feed and discharge systems, flexible combination sealing, heat carrier circulation, and self-cleaning coke removal, the company has leapfrogged from a 60-ton-per-day pilot project to a 600-ton industrial application. Currently, Wanrong’s single-unit equipment boasts a daily processing capacity exceeding 150 tons, and it has successfully developed customized electromagnetic waste plastic chemical recycling technology equipment, which has gained widespread international acclaim and satisfied customers worldwide.

This partnership with the Korean eco-firm represents a strategic deployment for Wanrong Technology. The Korean company boasts extensive experience and advanced technology in recycling waste synthetic resins and producing solid recovered fuel (SRF), with an annual output exceeding 10,000 tons, a pivotal position in South Korea’s SRF production and comprehensive recycling sector. The collaboration will leverage each party’s strengths in chemical recycling to explore more efficient and environmentally friendly plastic recycling models.

At the signing ceremony, Che Tao, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Wanrong’s Equipment & System Service Division, stated, “This cooperation coincides with the Fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5), embodying our concrete action in response to the global plastic pollution governance initiative. We will join hands with our Korean partners to contribute to the implementation of the forthcoming global plastic pollution treaty and promote the development of the global plastic circular economy.”

This collaboration not only marks an acceleration in Wanrong Technology’s international footsteps in waste plastic chemical recycling but also injects new vigor and impetus into global plastic pollution governance efforts. Looking ahead, the two parties will work together to explore new horizons in plastic circular utilization, contributing to the construction of a green and sustainable Earth.
