Over 40 Breakthroughs: Dow Shines at CHINAPLAS 2025, Paving the Way for Sustainable Plastics

April 19, 2025 – The Asian rubber and plastics industry gathering once again ignites a wave of innovation. Dow (NYSE: DOW) made a grand appearance at CHINAPLAS 2025, presenting over 40 groundbreaking customer solutions. Focusing on three key areas – circular economy, material performance enhancement, and packaging innovation – the company is driving the sustainable transformation of the plastics industry through technological empowerment and industrial collaboration.

“The Asia-Pacific market is the core engine of Dow’s long – term growth strategy,” emphasized Bambang Candra, Vice President of Commercial for Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics, Asia Pacific, at the exhibition. By expanding production capacity and deepening local partnerships, Dow is accelerating its efforts to meet the upgrading demands of industries such as consumer goods, automotive, and food packaging. It aims to drive sustainable solutions through innovation and support China’s low – carbon industrial transformation.

At the exhibition, Dow’s full – life – cycle plastic recycling traceability solution, jointly launched with partners like Lovere and Delian Group, became the center of attention. AsiaMB has learned that this solution integrates Lovere’s AI waste identification system with Delian Group’s REVOLOOP™ recycled resin traceability technology. Consumers can track the carbon footprint and recycling path of products simply by scanning the QR code. With the gamified point system of smart recycling bins, public participation has significantly increased, effectively closing the plastic recycling loop and promoting both industry transparency and circular efficiency. Kodak Xiao, Senior Business Director of Sustainability at Dow, pointed out that digital tracking technology is reshaping the landscape of the circular economy, helping China’s circular system move towards large – scale development.

In the field of technological innovation, Dow’s solution specifically developed for biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films has attracted industry attention due to its excellent heat resistance and recyclable design. Meanwhile, Dow signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Zhejiang Hengxi High – Tech Materials. Through the supply of high – performance resins and joint research and development, the two parties will promote the commercial application of monomaterial machine – direction oriented polyethylene (MDOPE) films in food packaging and other fields, opening up new paths for the sustainable development of the flexible packaging industry. Hong Yanshun, the head of Zhejiang Hengxi, stated that the cooperation will bring new opportunities for the upgrading of the packaging industry.

During this exhibition, Dow’s technical experts will also conduct in – depth discussions on topics such as the circular economy, high – performance shoe materials, and next – generation material solutions. It is expected that Dow will communicate with more than 1,500 customers, working hand in hand with industry partners to explore innovative paths for sustainable development and product performance breakthroughs. With technology and cooperation as the dual engines, Dow is set to reshape the future ecosystem of the plastics industry.
