Lianyungang Forum to Explore Developments in Ethylene Downstream Industry

September 11, 2024 – The chemical industry’s spotlight has once again fallen on Lianyungang, where a forum on the development of high-end new materials in the ethylene downstream industry is set to take place. Organized by ASIACHEM Consulting, this forum aims to explore new policies, market opportunities, and technological advancements in high-end downstream new materials within the ethylene industry chain, particularly in the context of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

Leading experts from various enterprises and research institutions, including Wanhua Chemical, Shenzhen Advanced Polymer Materials Research Institute, and Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical, are expected to attend the forum and deliver speeches discussing trends in high-end new materials in the ethylene downstream industry. Specifically, Wanhua Chemical will introduce its innovative and green POE products, while the Shenzhen Advanced Polymer Materials Research Institute will share their latest progress in developing high-end polyolefins using continuous solution polymerization platform technology.

Notably, the construction of an ethylene-based polyolefin elastomer (EPOE) pilot project in Chengguan Street, Dongming County, is progressing steadily. Invested and constructed by Shandong Dongming Petrochemical Group, the project is expected to be completed and put into operation in October. This development will significantly contribute to the industrialization of EPOE experimental results, further promoting the deep integration of Dongming Petrochemical’s industrial chain. It is also expected to positively impact the high-end and green development of the chemical industry in Heze City.

Moreover, with the global advocacy for green, low-carbon, and sustainable development, the efficient utilization and deep processing technology of C4 resources have become the focus of the industry. It is estimated that by 2025, the total amount of C4 resources in China will reach approximately 26 to 28 million tons per year. The downstream industrial chain covers various fields such as synthetic rubber, plastics, fuel additives, and high-end chemical new materials. In this context, a forum on high-end new materials in the C4 downstream industry will also be held in Lianyungang to explore the development trends of C4 resources and market opportunities in the downstream industry.

According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, with the continuous emergence of new technologies and the sustained growth of market demand, the high-end new materials industry in the ethylene downstream sector will embrace a broader development space. The convening of this forum undoubtedly provides an excellent platform for in-depth exchanges and collaborative development among various parties in the industry.
