Recently, the project site has been buzzing with machinery and busy workers, as all tasks are being carried out intensively. As a crucial part of the polyolefin industry chain in Zibo City, Jincheng Petrochemical is further accelerating its pace of building, complementing, extending, and strengthening the chain through the implementation of this project.
It is understood that the total investment of the project is as high as 370 million yuan. Since its commencement in December 2022, the main construction has been successfully completed. Currently, the project team is conducting detailed inspections of each area to prepare for trial production. The commissioning of the project will inject strong momentum into Jincheng Petrochemical’s development towards the field of high-end chemical new materials.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the 300,000 tons/year narrow distribution ultra-high molecular weight polypropylene project is not only a major project in Zibo City, but also utilizes a high-end synthetic material independently developed by Jincheng Petrochemical – metallocene catalyst. This catalyst produces a special material for long fiber reinforced prepreg tape with excellent performance, which can be widely used in special fields such as aerospace and deep-sea exploration. The completion of the project is expected to replace some imported high-end polypropylene products, reducing China’s dependence on imported high-end polypropylene.

The major scientific and technological innovation project of Shandong Province undertaken by the company has passed the comprehensive performance evaluation and acceptance, and the product performance has reached the international leading level.
