January 18, 2025 – Guangdong Energy Group’s Zhuhai Jinwan Marine Ranch Demonstrates Initial Success with Bumper Harvest
The Phase I of Guangdong Energy Group’s Zhuhai Jinwan Marine Ranch Demonstration Project has recently witnessed its first harvest, with over 5,000 kilograms of seabass harvested from the initial fishing expedition, marking a preliminary achievement for the project.

As an A-class project on the “Innovative Project” list of the Guangdong Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, this project has attracted considerable attention. The planned sea area for the project covers 253 hectares, with Phase I alone occupying 45 hectares. Here, a central platform cage with a water volume of 15,000 cubic meters, an HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) gravity cage with a water volume of 10,000 cubic meters, and a steel liftable gravity cage with a water volume of 5,000 cubic meters have been erected, providing a total aquaculture water volume of no less than 30,000 cubic meters and offering ample space for marine aquaculture.
According to AsiaMB, this project is unique in its innovative adoption of the “wind-fishery integration” model, leveraging the location of the Zhuhai Jinwan offshore wind farm. This model not only maximizes the comprehensive utilization of wind energy and fishery resources but also sets a successful example for the first “offshore wind power + marine ranching” integrated development project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The successful implementation of the project provides a novel approach and direction for promoting modern fishery development and the comprehensive exploitation of marine resources.
