Innovation in Colorants: Delta Tecnic Introduces Versatile SSP Masterbatch for PVC

November 15, 2024 – Spanish company Delta Tecnic, with an office in Boston, USA, and a global supply chain operating through its factory in Querétaro, Mexico, has announced a groundbreaking development in the field of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) colorants. The company has successfully developed “ultra” small color masterbatch and additive masterbatch for PVC, named SSP (Super Small Particle) masterbatch. This new product boasts significant improvements in color distribution uniformity and production conversion efficiency.

For years, the market has relied on standard particles that, while functional, offered limited color dispersion and homogenization. Delta Tecnic has consistently pushed the boundaries of particle size refinement, evolving from micro to small micro particles (SMP). The introduction of the SSP masterbatch marks a major breakthrough in particle size, aiming to further optimize dispersion effects. Due to their smaller diameter, SSP particles provide a higher number of small particles and fewer large ones per unit area of color coverage, resulting in a notable enhancement in the final product’s quality and ensuring a visually flawless appearance.

According to industry sources, the production process of SSP masterbatch is equally commendable. Delta Tecnic has abandoned the traditional low-temperature grinding method, adopting an advanced process that effectively reduces the generation of fine particles. This not only improves product quality but also greatly reduces the risk of workers inhaling fine particles during production, thereby enhancing workplace safety. The smaller particle size also minimizes the likelihood of inhalation during handling, reducing the need for workers to wear masks during the grinding process.

Moreover, the versatility of SSP master batch in terms of particle size is a standout feature. Whether for small-batch production of 25 kilograms or large-scale manufacturing, SSP can handle it all with ease. This characteristic is particularly crucial in the production of PVC films, composites, and rigid profiles, where strict dilution requirements are essential. Additionally, the ability to produce small batches offers Delta Tecnic’s customers customization options in color and performance, enabling them to quickly respond to market demands and meet specific application needs. Remarkably, this production method also contributes to sustainability by reducing resource consumption and waste generation, achieving a win-win situation for both environmental protection and economic benefits.
