September 09, 2024 – In recent years, Hezhou City has achieved remarkable green development outcomes in the stone and calcium carbonate industry. The city has been dedicated to promoting the high-value and green transformation of the stone and calcium carbonate sector, gradually enhancing the industry’s green development level by establishing a comprehensive resource utilization system that “makes full use of every part of the stone.”

To accomplish this goal, Hezhou has implemented several effective measures. Firstly, the city issued the “Regulations for the Stone and Calcium Carbonate Industry in Hezhou City,” providing policy guidance for the standardized development of the industry. Additionally, a comprehensive industry rectification mechanism called “six batches” was established, targeting small, scattered, chaotic, and polluting enterprises. Measures including on-site rectification, relocation into industrial parks, and legal prohibition were taken to effectively address industry chaos and further optimize the production environment of the stone and calcium carbonate industry in the city.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, Hezhou is also actively promoting the construction of a comprehensive mineral raw material distribution center in Pinggui District. The aim is to create a calcium carbonate deep processing industrial park integrating green mining, green logistics, green storage, green primary processing, and green deep processing. This initiative not only promotes the optimal and graded utilization of mineral resources but also enhances the industry’s added value and competitiveness.
Furthermore, with green development as its foundation, Hezhou has successfully driven a desulfurized gypsum solid waste resource utilization project invested by BNBM. This project converts waste residue from artificial stone into raw materials for cement production, establishing a circular economy industrial chain of “marble waste slurry – desulfurized gypsum – gypsum board.” It explores a new path for intensive and efficient industrial development. Simultaneously, Hezhou encourages the use of mining tailings and industrial solid waste for the production of powders, environmentally friendly lightweight bricks, and prefabricated buildings, turning waste into treasure. These efforts continuously improve the level of comprehensive resource utilization and accelerate the pace of green industrial transformation, injecting new vitality into the sustainable development of Hezhou’s stone and calcium carbonate industry.
