September 11, 2024 – Guangdong Petrochemical’s Third Branch has recently kicked off a significant VOC pipeline renovation project, aiming to upgrade its 800,000-ton-per-year full-density polyethylene plant. This ambitious undertaking, characterized by its vast scope and tight timeline, demands the installation of DN300 and DN200 pipelines, along with multiple valves and associated fittings, all within a mere five-day window.
This endeavor not only tests the project team’s collaborative spirit but also poses a serious challenge to their technical prowess. To ensure smooth sailing, the project management team has undertaken meticulous planning and preparation prior to the project’s commencement. They delved into potential safety hazards that could arise from the long-term operation of the plant through dedicated meetings and precisely identified risks that may emerge during the early stages of construction. Based on these insights, the team devised a scientific and practical construction plan, bolstering technical clarifications and safety training to elevate the supervision level and emergency response capabilities on the construction site.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the construction team faces the challenge of limited working hours due to the plant’s continuous operation. To tackle this hurdle, the project department has carefully organized over 20 professionals to participate in the construction and crafted a detailed work checklist. Before commencing construction, the team had already efficiently accomplished crucial preparatory work such as constructing the construction plan, conducting safety technical clarifications, training emergency management skills, purchasing materials, and erecting scaffolding. These measures ensure a smooth construction process, providing a solid foundation for the project’s steady progress.
