Groundbreaking Progress in Qinzhou: Efficient Hoisting of Full-Density Polyethylene Silos

October 14, 2024 – A significant breakthrough has been achieved in a major chemical project in Qinzhou, Guangxi. On October 8th, the project team successfully accomplished the efficient hoisting operation of the first four aluminum-magnesium alloy blending silos for the full-density polyethylene plant within a mere 10 hours. As the core process unit of Guangxi Petrochemical’s integrated refining and upgrading project, this plant boasts an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons and incorporates advanced Unipol technology from Univation, USA, specifically designed to produce high-quality polymeric full-density polyethylene resin granules.

In the face of tight deadlines and limited construction space, the project team demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and foresight. During the preparatory phase, they not only maximized the clearance of the reserved hoisting ground but also convened a meeting to meticulously devise a detailed plan for hoisting and transportation. Furthermore, comprehensive safety and technical training were provided to all personnel involved in the hoisting operation.

According to Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the coordination between the project team and the transportation company was seamless throughout the hoisting process. While the first silo was being hoisted, the second silo was already in transit, significantly reducing waiting time. Ultimately, with meticulous planning and rigorous execution by the project team, they utilized a 500-ton crane as the primary hoist, assisted by a 100-ton crane for tailing, successfully completing the hoisting of these four aluminum-magnesium alloy blending silos, each weighing 31.5 tons, within the stipulated 10 hours.
