June 5, 2025 – Amid the global wave of green transformation, China’s renewable resources industry is embracing unprecedented growth opportunities. Driven by the sustained advancement of the “double carbon” goals, the waste plastic recycling and utilization sector has overcome technical bottlenecks, establishing a complete industrial ecosystem that achieves the high-value utilization of millions of tons of waste annually.
Policy incentives have spurred domestic recycling enterprises to break through barriers via technological innovation. Take waste PET recycling as an example: advanced sorting and cleaning technologies now convert discarded bottle flakes into high-quality recycled polyester, widely adopted in the textile and apparel industry. A leading enterprise, through self-developed fiber production technologies, processes over 100,000 tons of waste polyester materials annually, equivalent to reducing hundreds of thousands of tons of petroleum consumption and carbon emissions.

According to insights from the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, the recycling industry is currently undergoing diversified development. Beyond traditional packaging material recycling, breakthroughs have been made in high-end application fields such as graphene modification and antibacterial functions. Products from some enterprises have obtained international certifications and successfully entered global premium supply chains, demonstrating the international competitiveness of China’s recycling technologies.
In terms of industrial layout, recycling enterprises are accelerating their expansion toward full industrial chain integration. From the construction of recycling networks to the development of end-user products, a complete industrial loop has taken shape. Capital markets have shown growing attention to the recycling sector, with green financial instruments injecting new momentum into its development. Meanwhile, cross-border cooperation has intensified, driving China’s recycling industry deeper into the global value chain.
To foster industry exchange and collaboration, the 13th Recycled Polyester Industry Chain Forum will be held in early July in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang. The forum will focus on hot topics such as technological innovation and market trends, building a professional communication platform for upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain to facilitate its high-quality development.
