December 23, 2024 – A grand opening ceremony was held in the Nantong Development Zone on the morning of December 16th, marking the official launch of Da Baoli Engineering Plastics (Nantong) Co., Ltd. This enterprise, with a total investment of $560 million, is poised to become a rising star in the industry. Earlier, on November 29th, Baoli Corporation announced that its indirectly invested manufacturing company in China, Da Baoli Engineering Plastics (Nantong) Co., Ltd., had completed preparations for its first-phase 90,000-ton/year polyoxymethylene (POM) production facility, which is set to commence commercial operations in late November 2024.

Da Baoli Engineering Plastics (Nantong) Co., Ltd. has set its sights on becoming a world-class POM super polymerization plant with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons. The project is being implemented in two phases. The first phase, a 90,000-ton POM polymerization project, successfully completed its initial trial run in October this year and officially commenced production in December. The second phase, a 60,000-ton project, is expected to be commercially operational by 2026. Notably, through years of technological accumulation and innovation, Baoli Plastics’ POM polymerization plant has not only demonstrated excellent production stability but also achieved a significant breakthrough in achieving the lowest energy consumption in the global industry.
Polyoxymethylene (POM), one of the five major engineering plastics, is widely acclaimed for its high strength, exceptional mechanical properties, and good dimensional stability. As the third most commonly used engineering plastic after polyamide (PA) and polycarbonate (PC), POM is also recognized as a high-end chemical new material by the Chinese government and included in the category of national strategic emerging industries. The opening of Da Baoli Engineering Plastics (Nantong) Co., Ltd. is undoubtedly poised to inject new vitality into this field.
