PureCycle Unveils Ambitious Global PP Recycling Network
In a groundbreaking move for the circular plastics economy, PureCycle Technologies has revealed its strategy to establish nearly 1 billion pounds of annual polypropylene (PP) recycling capacity by 2030—a volume representing roughly one-third of today’s global recycled PP market.
The Ohio-based innovator will deploy its solvent-based purification technology across three flagship projects:
- Asia: A 130-million-pound facility in Rayong, Thailand, slated for 2027 launch
- Europe: A matching-capacity plant in Antwerp, Belgium, targeting 2028 operations
- North America: A 300-million-pound next-gen technology hub in Augusta, Georgia

A recent $300 million funding round has bolstered PureCycle’s expansion plans. The company’s proprietary process, licensed from a multinational consumer goods leader, upgrades post-consumer PP to virgin-like quality—a key differentiator in the competitive recycled plastics sector.
Notably, the firm is pioneering cost-efficient implementation models. Its Thai joint venture shares infrastructure with a local petrochemical partner, while the European project utilizes redeployed equipment to accelerate timelines.
Industry analysts highlight the strategic timing of this expansion, as demand for sustainable polymers surges worldwide. If successfully scaled, PureCycle’s network could redefine PP recycling economics, with its $600 million EBITDA projection signaling the sector’s transition from pilot-phase to profitable industrialization.
