August 13, 2024 – Daxie Petrochemical’s Integrated Refining and Chemical Project Hits Major Milestone
The Daxie Petrochemical’s integrated refining and chemical project has recently achieved a significant milestone with the successful lifting and positioning of the first reactor, 1216-R-201, for its massive 2×450,000-ton per year polypropylene plant. This event marks the completion of the lifting work for all 32 large equipment pieces for the polypropylene unit.

Daxie Petrochemical’s polypropylene plant, one of the largest in its class in China, is poised to significantly boost the company’s production capacity to an impressive 1.2 million tons per year, injecting a powerful impetus into the development and expansion of its industrial chain.
According to AsiaMB, the entire lifting process, which began on April 18th with the first large equipment, the propylene feed pump pressure stabilizing tank, and concluded on July 31st with the smooth installation of the last first-line first reactor, spanned 104 days. During this period, a total of 32 large equipment pieces, weighing a collective 2,969.2 tons, were successfully lifted.
It’s worth noting that the first loop reactor R201 for the 2×450,000-ton polypropylene plant was the first in China to adopt the innovative “6-pipe frame modular prefabricated assembly” installation method. This approach enabled the entire loop reactor to be lifted and installed in one piece, significantly enhancing construction efficiency.
Furthermore, remarkable progress has been made in the construction of the polypropylene plant’s packaging warehouse. The smooth lifting of the first prefabricated column signaled the official commencement of the above-ground construction phase for the warehouse.
Despite facing multiple challenges, such as the heavy weight of equipment and a complex construction environment, Daxie Petrochemical and the construction unit worked closely together, adopting a series of scientific and effective strategies and measures. Through meticulous layout design, reasonable lifting sequence arrangement, and modern lifting techniques, they ensured the stability and safety of the entire lifting process.
With the successful completion of the lifting work for the polypropylene plant’s large equipment, Daxie Petrochemical’s polypropylene project is poised to enter a new phase, laying a solid foundation for the company’s future development.
