August 09, 2024 – Daqing Petrochemical Successfully Trials New Micro-crosslinked Low Haze Metallocene Linear Polyethylene Resin

Daqing Petrochemical has recently announced the successful trial production of 514 tons of a novel micro-crosslinked low haze metallocene linear polyethylene resin, LKHMS1810. This innovative product’s development marks not only concrete progress in increasing metallocene polyethylene production but also underscores the company’s status as a “product giant” in the field of functional synthetic resins. It is a significant breakthrough in the new material acceleration project.
Micro-crosslinked low haze metallocene linear polyethylene is a high-performance material prepared through a specific micro-crosslinking catalyst and a gas-phase fluidized bed process. Its diverse long-chain branching and reticulated molecular structure endow the product with excellent heat resistance, toughness, and puncture resistance, opening up new horizons for polyethylene materials in high-end applications such as high-transparency films and coatings. Additionally, this product has the potential to replace traditional high-pressure polyethylene products in areas like greenhouse films, thereby reducing downstream processing costs and generating greater economic benefits for enterprises.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, Daqing Petrochemical’s Polyolefins Department possesses strong R&D and production capabilities, having developed over 170 different grades of high, medium, and low-density polyethylene products widely used in domestic and international markets. The development of this new product is an innovative attempt based on market research to meet the higher demands of downstream users. By optimizing the product’s molecular structure, transparency, and processability, Daqing Petrochemical has successfully developed the new LKHMS1810 grade, further expanding its application scope.
During the trial production process, Daqing Petrochemical’s technical staff overcame challenges such as the small particle size of metallocene polyethylene powder and the harsh reaction conditions of the micro-crosslinking catalyst. Through careful organization and repeated testing, they finally achieved successful trial production of the new product. This achievement not only reflects Daqing Petrochemical’s technical strength and innovation capability but also injects new vitality into the company’s future development.
The relevant person in charge of Daqing Petrochemical’s Polyolefins Department stated that the successful development of the new product will further enhance the company’s core competitiveness and drive its development in the field of functional synthetic resins. In the future, Daqing Petrochemical will continue to uphold the development direction of “making general products top-notch and focusing on the research and development of new materials to meet the constantly changing and upgrading market demands. (Note: The Chinese phrase translates to “making specialty products high-end.”)
