CNCEC Subsidiaries Secure Major EPCC Contract for 300,000-ton PDH/PP Project in Vietnam

September 27, 2024 – A significant milestone has been achieved in the chemical industry as Hualu Company, a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation (CNCEC), along with its sixth engineering division, has formally inked an EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) contract with Vietnam’s Phu My Plastic Co., Ltd. (PMP) for a 300,000-ton Propane Dehydrogenation to Polypropylene (PDH/PP) project. The project, situated within the CAIMEP Industrial Park in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, encompasses the construction of a 300,000-ton PDH unit, a 300,000-ton PP unit, and comprehensive utility installations, including the design, procurement, construction, testing, and startup of whole-plant systems and auxiliary production facilities.

Upon completion and commissioning, this project is poised to notably enhance Vietnam’s local industrial production capacity, effectively catering to domestic market demands while generating additional job opportunities. This, in turn, is expected to exert a profound impact on driving regional economic and social development. The successful signing of this contract underscores CNCEC’s steadfast stride towards high-quality Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) collaboration and signifies another pivotal achievement in its comprehensive overseas strategy, particularly in deepening its footprint in the Southeast Asian market and fostering a reputable international brand.

According to insights from the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, CNCEC stands as a leading player in domestic chemical project construction, boasting multiple robust engineering bureaus under its umbrella. While official listings highlight nine bureaus engaged in construction contracting and execution, it’s noteworthy that China Chemical Ninth Construction Corporation is also a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNCEC, albeit not explicitly featured on the official website. Thus, CNCEC effectively commands a formidable force of ten powerful chemical construction companies, attesting to its unparalleled industry standing and prowess. The securing of the EPCC contract for the 300,000-ton PDH/PP project in Vietnam further solidifies CNCEC’s pioneering position and exceptional competence in the realm of chemical project construction.

Moving forward, Hualu Company and its sixth division will fully leverage their “T+EPC” technological strengths, actively mobilize and integrate resources from all parties, and dedicate themselves to advancing the project’s construction. Their aim is to create a high-standard, high-quality benchmark project that embodies excellence. Through concerted efforts, they will contribute overseas strength to CNCEC’s accelerated journey towards becoming a world-class enterprise, further accentuating its leading position and influence in the global chemical project construction sector.
