CIMC Green Energy Low-Carbon Tech Makes Progress with Biomass Fuel Plan

January 18, 2025 – CIMC Green Energy Low-Carbon Technology (Zhanjiang) Co., Ltd. has announced positive news as the energy-saving report for its 50,000-ton/year biomass liquid fuel project has successfully passed the review. This project marks a solid step forward for the company in the field of green energy.

It is reported that the main construction content of the project includes a comprehensive renovation of the existing production workshop on the factory site and the establishment of a 56,000-ton/year green methanol production line. To this end, the company will build a series of advanced facilities for methanol synthesis, distillation, air separation, hydrogen recovery, and more, ensuring efficient and environmentally friendly production processes.

According to industry insights from the Color Masterbatch Network, the project has also made strict plans regarding energy consumption and key energy efficiency indicators. Upon completion and commissioning, the annual comprehensive energy consumption of the project will be controlled within 43,817 tons of standard coal (equivalent value), with annual electricity consumption not exceeding 78.96 million kWh, annual steam consumption not exceeding 111,440 tons, and annual biomass consumption maintained within a reasonable range. The achievement of these indicators will significantly contribute to the company’s energy-saving and emission-reduction goals, making a valuable contribution to the development of the green energy industry.
