May 7, 2025 – Amcor, a global titan in the packaging industry, has recently made waves with the launch of Liquiflex AmPrima, a flexible pouch tailored specifically for the bulk foodservice product market in Europe. This innovative packaging solution is set to breathe new life into the industry’s sustainable development efforts.
Amcor highlights that compared to traditional canned sauce packaging, the Liquiflex AmPrima pouch offers remarkable advantages in space utilization. Whether before or after filling, it enables companies to significantly cut down on warehousing costs. Its versatility is another strong suit, as the pouch can handle a wide array of liquid products, including condiments and sauces. Moreover, it’s also suitable for frozen vegetables and protein products, effectively catering to the diverse packaging needs of the foodservice sector.

According to AsiaMB, the Liquiflex AmPrima pouch truly shines in terms of environmental performance. Based on Amcor’s ASSET life cycle assessment method, which is certified by the Carbon Trust, compared with standard heavier packaging, the new pouch can reduce carbon footprint by up to 79%, cut non – renewable energy use by 75%, and slash water consumption by 84%. These figures clearly demonstrate the great potential of this new product in helping brand owners achieve their green development goals. Additionally, the Liquiflex AmPrima pouch is highly customizable in terms of materials. It can incorporate PCR (post – consumer recycled) materials that are compatible with food contact upon customers’ requests, further enhancing its sustainability. In terms of functional design, the packaging can be equipped with pumps or spouts, serving as a functional refill packaging option, thus providing consumers with a more convenient user experience.
In recent years, with the increasing environmental awareness of consumers and the growing stringency of environmental regulations worldwide, the packaging industry has been accelerating its transition towards sustainability. Amcor’s launch of the Liquiflex AmPrima pouch is undoubtedly a powerful response to this industry trend. Moving forward, AsiaMB will keep a close eye on whether Amcor will expand the product to more regions and how it will reshape the packaging landscape for bulk foodservice products.
