Recently, the reserves evaluation agency in Guizhou Province conducted a review of a significant geological exploration project and it passed successfully. This project was undertaken by the Sichuan No.3 Geological Brigade Jinzuan Mineral Exploration Engineering Co., Ltd., with the exploration site located in Duyun, Guizhou. The exploration achieved remarkable results, successfully identifying a barite deposit with reserves exceeding 23 million tons, meeting the criteria for a large-scale mine.

According to information from the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, this deposit is hosted within the Jiangnan composite orogenic belt and is a typical hydrothermal filling and metasomatic stratabound deposit. This type of deposit is characterized by its large scale, uniform grade variation, and the high whiteness, large specific gravity, and ease of processing of its ore. After professional processing and metallurgical procedures, these ores can meet the high standards for drilling fluid-grade barite powder (Grade I-Special) and chemical-grade barite (First-class).
The exploration results indicate that a total of six barite ore bodies have been identified within the mining area. The formation of these ore bodies is strictly controlled by faults and interlayer fracture zones, and they primarily exhibit a layered, stratiform, and lenticular multilayer distribution pattern. Among them, the main ore body has a strike length of approximately 1,300 meters and a dip extension close to 600 meters. After initial estimations, the barite resources of this deposit exceed 23 million tons, with associated zinc metal content also nearing 20,000 tons. The potential economic value of this large-scale deposit is estimated to be nearly ten billion yuan, which holds significant importance for the local economy and the development of related industries.
