October 10, 2024 – At the upcoming Fakuma 2024 exhibition, Tosaf is poised to unveil its latest advancements in the realm of performance-enhancing masterbatches for the plastics industry, particularly highlighting breakthroughs in PET and rPET product optimization.

Tosaf will not only showcase its innovative PPAX color masterbatches, which bring a vibrant array of color effects to PPA materials, but will also introduce PFAS-free processing aids tailored for film extrusion, alongside a novel halogen-free flame retardant for PP materials. These new offerings not only enhance processing capabilities but also align with the market’s pressing demand for sustainability.
According to the Color Masterbatch Industry Network, Tosaf has achieved remarkable results in optimizing PET and rPET products. By incorporating specific additives, Tosaf can improve the color and gloss of rPET, preventing water droplet deposition on packaging inner walls, thereby enhancing product aesthetics and functionality. Furthermore, the company has launched additives for extending product shelf life, such as those that absorb and eliminate oxygen in the packaging headspace, UV-blocking additives, and ultra-light-blocking white masterbatches. The application of these additives helps reduce food spoilage within packaging, boosting product competitiveness in the market.
In terms of fire safety, Tosaf has introduced the FR8719PP halogen-free flame retardant, suitable for PP pipes or molded parts, which easily meets stringent fire safety standards even at low concentrations. This innovative product enables customers to switch to more sustainable solutions while maintaining product flame retardancy and performance.
To address the market demand for PFAS-free products, Tosaf has developed PFAS-free polyolefin extrusion processing aids. These aids can seamlessly replace traditional film production formulas while meeting FDA and EFSA food contact requirements. This launch not only improves processing performance but also resolves issues in the recycling process, offering customers a more environmentally friendly solution.
Additionally, leveraging PPAX, Tosaf has developed a new color masterbatch carrier system based on high-performance plastic PPA, combined with specially selected pigments. This innovation allows products made with PPAX to exhibit a diverse range of vibrant colors without compromising their inherent high-performance characteristics. This product launch will provide customers with more diversified options, catering to the market’s demand for high-performance, colorful products.
Tosaf remains at the forefront of the industry in terms of sustainability. The company quantifies and reports its carbon footprint down to the product level, utilizes solar energy, and offers a product portfolio based on renewable or recycled materials. Furthermore, Tosaf continues to expand its sustainable solution portfolio, including bio-based concentrates using coffee grounds and eggshells as fillers, polymers derived from renewable resources, and recycled polymers. These initiatives not only demonstrate Tosaf’s commitment to sustainability but also provide customers with more eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.
